"All aboard!" . STEEL & WOOD is a Bluegrass band based in Petoskey, Michigan. We offer heartfelt, traditional music with roots emanating from Southern Appalachia and harkening back to American railroad culture. Our repertoire spans the works of Bill Monroe, Ralph Stanley, Jim and Jesse McReynolds and many others, plus a sampling of original tunes, classic country and folk/rock selections.
STEEL & WOOD members include John A. Neiswander - lead guitar, Irene Kazmers -fiddle/guitar, Dave Eggebrecht - mandolin/fiddle, Paul Bachleda - banjo, and John Belfy / Kathy Tuinhoff on upright bass.
Our first CD, "ALONG THE TRACK", containing 16 "first take" traditional Bluegrass recordings was reviewed:
